Say hello and welcome to Oxfam Philly Action Corps' new leaders, Lindsy Ray and Cheryl Dunn. Both have been involved with Oxfam before and are excited to jump in and get started with making a change in our future with fighting poverty and social injustice.
~~~~~
Cheryl got involved with Oxfam because she found out about the Make Trade Fair campaign through Coldplay in 2006. Through this, she learned about Oxfam and did a huge project on the campaign as her senior project in high school. She also volunteered at her first show through Oxfam at the Coldplay show in NJ that year. Since, she has been a Philadelphia Oxfam Action Corps Concert Lead, an Oxfam CHANGE Leader and Facilitator, Coldplay lead volunteer for the Hershey and Philadelphia shows in 2008 and 2009. She is looking forward to meeting new volunteers and finding new artists to follow Oxfam and their goals to end poverty.
Lindsy began working with Oxfam in 2010 when Cheryl invited her to help out at a concert. Since then she continued to help out with tabling events and this year decided to become the Philly Oxfam Action Corps Leader. She trained for 4 days in Washington, DC with all of the Oxfam America Action Corps Leaders and also spent a day lobbying congress about changes in the Farm Bill. She has a lot of ideas planned for Oxfam Philly this year and hopes to see new volunteers at future meeting or tabling events as well!
