Hope that you all are doing well on the dawn of this historical election of our new President and are looking forward to the new possibilities to come for this great country.
I would like to acknowledge the great work that Oxfam volunteers have been doing to make this world a better place and that we all have power and that it is time for justice!
Last Saturday, Oxfam volunteers worked at Coldplay's second concert here in Philadelphia at the Wachovia Center as we had previously done back in July.The support we encountered was great and we were able to get over 500 signups, thanks to our hard working volunteers: Myrna, Maryam, Franklyn, Janelle, Shadora, Michael, Sharon, Pat, Nicole, Mark, Theresa, Cheryl, Heather, Logan, Kelsey, Tim, Rachel, and once again Peter Lusby!
Also, don't forget to join us this Friday 11/07/08 for our FREE film screening of Sisters on the Planet at the Circle of Hope @ 6pm. The film will be followed by a presentation by Brian Rawson, the senior organizer at Oxfam who established the Action Corps and a POAC member who will talk about her experience volunteering in developing countries and how they struggle to overcome the challenges presented by climate change. Special invited guest are also expected to attend!
