Philly Farm & Food Fest

Sounds right up Oxfam's alley, right? Last Sunday a group of Oxfam volunteers trekked across the Convention Center meeting local vendors and sampling delicious foods.

Some of us were very interested in the coffee...
There was plenty to see (and eat) and it was wonderful to meet farmers and producers local to the Philadelphia region. Eating locally and sustainably is part of Oxfam's GROW campaign, and one way to address poverty worldwide starting at your own kitchen table.

It was a fun way to spend an afternoon, and we hope it will be even bigger next year! Here's a picture of our little group:
Left to right: Brian Greer [volunteer], Emily Black ['13-'14 organizer], fig tree, Randy Scholl [volunteer], Ryan Black (sheepish sibling recruit), and Sarah Magnelia ['14-'15 organizer]
We were also able to meet a representative from the Upper Merion Farmer's Market, so we hope to be tabling there one weekend this summer. If you're close by and would like to be involved, give us a shout through email or Facebook! If not, hop over to our Upcoming Events page and see what's happening soon near you :)
