Monthly Member Meetings
Our recent POAC member meeting was held on Wednesday July 29, 2009 at Whole Foods Market on South St. We were pleased to have current members and new members attend as well as special invited guest from Oxfam America: Brian Rawson, Gabe Barerras, Bob Ferguson and Julianna Stuart. We were also joined by Winne Lee, a fellow volunteer organizer from Oxfam Action Corps New York City.

The Senate and American Clean Energy and Security Act bill
The Senate is currently on its August recess and POAC is planning for in-district lobby visits in order to talk to Senators Bob Casey and Arlen Specter about the Climate Change legislation currently in the Senate.
If you are interested in joining us in our visits to the Senators, please contact Nan, POAC Organizer at philadelphia@oxfamactioncorps.org
If you can’t join us in a lobby visit, please take the time to contact both Senators and ask them to support strong international adaptation funding in the ACES bill. Please let us know when you’ve called or written to either Senator so we can keep track of our efforts. Feel free to either write your own letter or use this letter writing guide.
