Collegeville Farmer's Market

scenic Collegeville
Action Corps left the city for the suburbs this weekend and took a trip to the farmer's market in Collegeville, PA. It was a relatively quiet market, but we have a fantastic volunteer from the area who spent the morning at our table! Melissa is a student who will be starting a club at her high school this fall, and she did a wonderful job talking to market-goers and getting petitions signed.

We were talking about our Behind the Brands campaign, encouraging people to sign on and hold the ten largest food and beverage companies accountable. There were quite a few people interested, particularly in issues about GMO's in one case, and a few stuck around to talk to us longer (and take a rest in one of our chairs!).
thanks for signing!
Thanks to all the petition-signers!
Thank you so much to the Collegeville Farmer's Market for being wonderful hosts (they lent us this tent!), and especially to Melissa for being such an enthusiastic volunteer. Like us on Facebook to see more upcoming events - more farmer's markets and at least two concerts are in the works - or send an email to philadelphia@oxfamactioncorps.org to get involved. See you soon!
